Sunday flights for Mark and Shabe

After so many sunny week days, the weekend finally arrived - allowing two pilots the chance for some air!

Mark (joined by his wife Mary) caught the first ferry from Tsawwassen and met up with Shabe and I in Sidney where we boarded the 11am boat bound for Fulford Harbour. It was to be Mark's first time flying Lower Bruce so an 'LZ walk' was in order. The forecasted north winds were nowhere to be found on the ground but we decided to drive up to launch to have a look.

Light but upslope winds greeted us, so Mark and Shabe both had short, first flights. Back up again to more of the same for Mark but Shabe waited out some cross and then down wind. I headed back up with Mark and, soon afterwards Shabe executed a nice forward launch in a light wind for his second flight. Mark soon followed for his third of the day!

Congrats to both pilots on their first flights of the season and to Mark for his first flights on Saltspring!
