Hawaii Tour 2008 - Day 2

Still awaiting the rest of the tour participants, Natalie had me all to herself for another day. We hiked up the Lanikai Ridge and had a refreshing 5mins worth of rain greet us as we reached the top (it does that from time to time here. Hence the rainbow image that dons the license plates). We dried out then checked the east launch (the cleaner of the two).

It was blowing up nicely and Natalie had her first launch with any substantial wind. I set up while she made a few passes out front of the north launch. The wind had lightened somewhat by the time I got airborne, however, and she was a bit too far from the ridge to gain enough altitude for a safe glide to the beach and so, wisely, she put down in the school field below. I spiralled down and joined her there. Congrats on your first Hawaii flight Natalie!
