Back up Prevost

VIParagliding-mobile extraordinaire: Mitsubishi Delica!

Even though there was strong west wind both on the ground and showing in the clouds, Lee, Charlie, Grant, and I boarded the Delica and gave Mt Prevost a shot. After the ATV adventure this past Saturday, it was enticing to see if we could drive up part way at least (it's been nearly 5 months since most of us have been up!).

The first deep snowy section required a bit of shovel work but it didn't take long before we were cruising up higher and higher. Never having driven the 4X4 Delica on snowy logging roads before, it took a bit to get used to, but it was definitely one of the best vehicles I've driven in such conditions - the low ratio gear just kept jugging along wonderfully.

Hannah had a good workout, running alongside us as we plowed upwards and, by the end of it, we'd made it pretty much to the same point as the ATVs. An easy hike from there and we were greeted with unflyable conditions on launch, but enjoyed a nice bird show put on by five turkey vultures and one confused raven.

The drive back down was even more fun and Charlie and Lee shot a couple of short videos.
