Chasing the Wind

Mt Prevost -> Training Hill -> Dallas

Grant, Christopher, and I had an early start at Mt Prevost today which proved to be the call. We were up on launch by 9:30am and nice cycles were coming through Middle and Grant forwarded off well with me following closely on his heels.

I passed him half way out and we played in some light lift together before setting down in a light southerly. Another surprise from the past as (Super) Dave Osborne showed up in the LZ after a 3yr hiatus from flying.

Charlie arrived and we all drove up for another flight. The sky had darkened somewhat by the time we arrived on launch and strong cycles were coming over the back so I worked on putting a new windsock up with Grant's assistance.

Nice Cu's were forming all over the Cowichan Valley but launch conditions weren't favourable so we all hit the Training Hill (sans Charlie as he motored down to Dallas).

The TH would have been 'climb-out-able' if the wind had been just 10-15 degrees straighter. I still tried, however, and nearly had it. Dave shook off some cobwebs and had some good flights together with Grant and Christopher.

I called to check in with Charlie and he reported that he had already been flying for 1.5hrs or so with Torge and Pierre!

Grant, Christopher, and I then left the TH and hooked up with Trask for some strong WSW kiting at Dallas to end the day. We definitely made the most of it!
