Having a "day off" we slept in (as much as possible considering we are all a bit jet-lagged) and yet still found ourselves on the Sarangkot launch by 11:30am or so.

Lee was off first ("no sense wasting a good cycle") - launching before the Russians is always recommended (right Charlie?). Cornell, Brett, Evangeline, and I soon followed. The thermals were a bit 'spicy' with the most cumulus development we've seen yet. Strong climbs up to 2000' over launch.

Whoohoo! Had quite a ride today. Sarangkot was ON! Just when I thought thermalling couldn't get easier, the weather kicked some cloud action our way and I learned what 4.3m/sec lift feels like soon after launching. The instructions from Jayson were calm as always: "Now watch that cloud just above you Evangeline, make sure you have a way out." Or something like that as I watched a couple pilots get fainter and grayer above me. I opted to take a break from my chirping vario and turned out of the thermal to let myself drop a bit.
