Charlie reported that Prevost was looking promising in the morning and Paul, Rick, and I convinced one another that it was worth the drive up. As soon as we got to the LZ, however, the clouds rolled in and threatened rain. For some reason we still drove up to launch.

After Lee's first flight at Dallas and Hans' kiting tune-up, we headed north to Duncan to see what Mt Prevost had in store. A few other pilots had already flown in strong west conditions, but by the time we arrived on launch, it was blowing from the south.

The plan was for Lee and I to meet Hans at Dallas around 9:00 for some kiting before heading up to Prevost for Hans' first flight there. Turned out that Hans was having some cell phone issues and didn't get the meeting time message so Lee and I had some time to kill. What to do?
